Question:
Why do I sometimes see an asterisk (*) next to my spin data?
Answer:
The RSG On and RSG Pro launch monitors measure the ball in flight. The measurements are grouped into two categories: trajectory and spin. Each category has a quality check applied to each shot.
Trajectory:
Includes ball velocity, vertical launch angle, and horizontal launch angle. If the quality check does not pass, then the shot is not displayed in the game. This will sometimes result in a "missed shot" where the golfer hits the ball, but nothing appears in the game.
Spin:
This includes the backspin and side spin. If the quality check does not pass, then an estimated spin is provided based on the club type, trajectory, and ball velocity. The asterisk appears when the spin is estimated.
