Vertical Attack is the angle of the club as it approaches impact with the golf ball. Vertical attack will be expressed as either Descending (D) as the club moves down to the turf, or Ascending (A) as the club moves past the low point of the swing and begins to come up from the turf to the ball.
Descending vertical attack is expected when golfing, and the ball is resting on the turf.
Ascending is possible when the ball is placed up on an elevated tee.
