You will see arming circles on the lower part of the screen. They are an optional feature that helps golfers see if the ball is in the preferred location for the camera. It is currently set to Dynamic, which means the circles will disappear within a few seconds of being arming. You don't need to wait for them to disappear. When the lower white golf ball has the green circle you are ready to hit, even if the small ball is outside the inner circle. The inner circle represents close proximity to the tee location.
The example above was captured when the golf ball is a little further back from the ideal tee position. That's why the aiming ball is back outside the inner circle. If you drag it forward you will see the ball reposition closer to within the circle.
Here is the camera's view of the ball in LMonitor. It's better if it is a little further forward.
You can control the behavior of the concentric circles here:
Menu 🡪 Settings 🡪 View 🡪 Killbox visibility
The ON setting is permanently visible. The OFF setting will have them permanently invisible. Most customers prefer the Dynamic setting; The circles will be visible until the ball is located within the outer circle. That is sufficient for the cameras to arm and change the circle around the larger white ball to green. For best results, drag the ball into the inner circle. Once armed, the circles will go invisible after about 5 seconds. You don’t have to wait until they disappear before hitting the ball. The aiming ball may disappear when the club is at address If the club is partially blocking the ball. As long as the larger ball has the green circle you can proceed with your backswing.
If you pull the ball away from the tee, it will take about 5 seconds for the arming circle to turn from green to red. The cameras will give up searching for the ball and lose their arming status.
Answer:
I was proposing to move the ball forward before setting up the 3ball setup. However, it's an interesting clue that you mention it would move the ball outside the 72" distance.
Explanation:
My advice to move the ball forward was based upon the appearance of the ball very close to the right side edge of the camera's field of view. The picture below is what it would look like. Notice how there is about 1/3 of the field of view to the right of the ball in the picture below.
I recommend checking three things that could explain why the ball is closer to the side of the field of view
- The base of the Nova should be resting on something with the same height of the turf where the ball is resting. If the Nova were to be resting on something higher, then the ball would appear closer to the right side of the view. It's fine if you are within 1/4" difference. It doesn't need to be exactly the same height.
- You are correct, the measurement from the ball back to the Nova is 72". The measurement is taken from the center of the ball to the center of the base of the Nova. This is approximately at the center of the stem coming out of the base.
- The Nova should be sitting on something level with the turf. If the Nova is on something that effectively tilts it up, then it could explain why the ball would appear further to the right side.
This would be a normal looking ball in the field of view.
