Uninstall Norton or McAfee – Windows Defender is sufficient

Norton and MacAfee can interfere (block) our installers. Windows Defender, which comes with Microsoft Windows, is sufficient protection, in our opinion. It is recommended to uninstall Norton or MacAfee.

New PCs may come with evaluation (temporarily free) versions of these software in the hopes the customer will purchase a subscription.
