Question:
Why does RSG Club immediately collapse to an icon on the icon tray when the application is initially launched? The application has not crashed, as you can see the icon on the tray, and the application will open to full screen when the icon on the tray is selected with the mouse.
Response:
Most Common Causes & Fixes
1. App or Shortcut Set to “Run Minimized”
This is the #1 cause, especially if it happens with the same app every time.
Check:
- Right-click the app’s shortcut (Desktop, Start Menu, or Taskbar pin)
- Select Properties
- Under the Shortcut tab, find Run:
- Make sure it is set to Normal window (not “Minimized”)
2. Startup Apps Launching Minimized
Some apps are designed to start in the system tray (Teams, OneDrive, etc.).
Check:
- Open Task Manager → Startup Apps
- Look for the app and see if it’s configured to launch at startup
- Also check inside the app’s own settings for:
- “Start minimized”
- “Start in system tray”
3. Focus-Stealing Prevention in Windows
Windows sometimes prevents new apps from stealing focus if another process is active.
This can make the app appear to “collapse” instantly.
Things to try:
- Click the app icon in the taskbar after launch (you already noticed this works)
- Close other apps temporarily and test
- Disable notifications temporarily (they can steal focus)
4. Multi-Monitor / Off-Screen Window Issue
If you’ve used multiple monitors, Windows may be opening the app off-screen or minimized.
Fix:
- Launch the app
- Press Alt + Tab to select it
- Press Alt + Space, then M
- Use arrow keys to bring it back onscreen
