A Microsoft update to Windows was pushed during the week of November 10th. This update introduced an incompatibility with our cameras, resulting in a frequent and persistent restart of the PC.
The solution is to modify the registry settings for two Ethernet settings named NetworkThrottlingIndex and SystemResponsiveness. When set correctly, they will appear in the regedit tool with “(20)” displayed on the far right side, as shown below.
Take these five steps:
- Press the Windows key on your keyboard with the four squares on the key (lower left side of keyboard) and then enter "regedit". When found, please launch the Regedit program.
- Enter the following path in the Regedit command line. It's easiest to cut and paste the path below.
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile
- Use the right mouse button to modify each of the two settings. For each, specify DECIMAL and enter the value 20. Follow the 4-step sequence shown below.
- First, select one of the two variables to change, and press the right mouse button for Modify
- Second. Select Decimal
- Third: enter 20
- Fourth: Select OK
4. Repeat this procedure for the second variable.
5. File -->Exit from Regedit.
6. Restart your PC
